This degree is designed for the rapidly growing UK IT services sector, focusing on the operational and infrastructure skills that modern organisations demand. While computer science emphasises theory and software engineering focuses on development, this course gives you the expertise to build, manage and secure the systems, platforms and networks that businesses rely on every day.
You will learn to build, secure and automate the digital infrastructure that underpins modern organisations. Core areas include cloud deployment, DevOps and cybersecurity, giving you the practical, in demand skills required to manage and optimise complex IT environments.
Through hands-on learning in specialist labs, you will work with enterprise hardware and cloud-native tools, preparing for roles such as service owner, infrastructure lead or cloud specialist. Throughout the course, you will connect with industry professionals through guest lectures, networking events and industry informed projects, helping you build valuable professional networks and gain insight into the latest trends shaping the IT sector.
The assessment strategy for the programme varies to ensure the most appropriate method for each specific module and subject area. Modules are assessed through a combination of methods, such as formal examinations, practical programming assignments, written assignments, technical reports, presentations, in-class tests, peer assessments and case studies.
The following entry points are available for this course:
