The Business with Marketing course gives you an in-depth understanding of business from the viewpoint of the marketing function. It is one of the pathways available in the Business Management degree cluster.
The Business with Marketing pathway should appeal particularly to you if you see marketing as being central to an organisation’s strategy, and if you are interested in the broad range of activities that fit within the general category of marketing.

On the Business with Marketing course you’ll gain a broad understanding of business from a marketing perspective.
You’ll learn about a wide range of marketing issues including the marketing mix, consumer behaviour, branding and advertising. The changing nature of marketing will be an important component of your studies.
You’ll see the breadth of the marketing function within an organisation and the extent to which it is central to strategy for many businesses.
You will study the techniques and approaches used by businesses to build an understanding of their customers and to target their offerings appropriately.
On the Business with Marketing degree you will:
Gain an overview of the concepts, theories and techniques that contribute to an understanding of business management
Learn the principles of marketing and understand different approaches to marketing
Become familiar with the tools and techniques available to develop and understand the nature of the demand for a product or service within a market
Learn about different areas of marketing and how they all relate to one another
Consider the impact on marketing on future developments in business
Recognise the ethical issue surrounding business and be able to practise responsible management.

On the Business with Marketing pathway for undergraduate students, most modules are assessed by a combination of exams and coursework.
The balance of assessment by coursework (assessed essays and assignments) unseen examinations and a final year project will to some extent depend on the optional modules you choose.
The first year of your programme contributes 10% to your final degree classification, the second year 30% and the final year 60%.
