Working closely with our industry partners this BSc Aviation Management course has been developed to give graduates a comprehensive understanding of the aviation sector from a managerial and operational perspective.
This combination of aviation industry awareness and pilot training is highly sought-after by a variety of aviation employers across the globe.
The course is delivered by a diverse and experienced team of experts in the aviation industry with established links to numerous airlines and aviation companies.

On graduation, you will have both a BSc (Hons) degree and a Commercial Pilot Licence which you could develop through flight training to become a commercial pilot or similar.
This Aviation Management course has been developed to enable you to develop a comprehensive understanding of the aviation sector from a managerial and operational perspective.
You will combine your modular training alongside academic studies and will have access to our on-site Boeing 737 flight simulator which provides a practical learning environment.
Guest lectures from aviation experts and opportunities for industry visits will support and enhance your learning.
You will also have the opportunity to work with a number of Approved Training Organisations (ATOs).
Our course content is developed with support from a wide network of sector professionals to include changes in the industry and we are proud to involve experts from Heathrow in our guest lectures and workshops to directly connect you to the industry.
The course is delivered by a diverse and experienced team of experts in the aviation industry. Students have access to the university’s Boeing 737 flight simulator facility which provides a practical learning environment. There are opportunities for industry visits and guest lectures from industry to support and enhance your learning. On completion of this degree students can gain employment as a Second or First Officer with an airline or train as a Flight Instructor in which they can gain hours prior to commencing flying.

• Air Transport Systems and Operations
• Leadership and Talent Management
• Private Pilot Licence (PPL) Theory and Practical.
Year Two
• Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) Theory
• Hour Building and Reflective Portfolio.
Year Three
• Airline Fleet Management and Maintenance
• Hour Building and Advanced Training
• Air Route Development and Operations
• Airline Pilot Standards (APS)/MCC (Multi Crew Coordination) Training
• Dissertation.
The following entry points are available for this course:
EASA Class 1 Medical
As a minimum you will need GCSE English, Mathematics and Physics or double/triple science (grade 9 – 5 / A* - C).
Each applicant will need to attend a pilot application day.
