Prepare for a career in biomedical sciences, contributing to breakthroughs and medical advances that positively impact people’s health and wellbeing.
On this course, you’ll study the human body at a molecular, organ and systems level.
You’ll learn how to investigate and treat disease, and discover the latest findings about conditions such as cancer, diabetes, antibiotic resistance and haemostasis.
We’ll cover modern diagnostic techniques and biomedical disciplines including haematology and transfusion science, clinical biochemistry, cellular pathology, medical genetics, medical microbiology, and clinical immunology.

You’ll be assessed on essays, exams and practical analysis, so we can make sure you’re developing the knowledge and skills you need.
The following entry points are available for this course:
5 GCSEs at grade D, or grade 3, or above including English and maths and evidence of two years post-GCSE study at Level 3. If you have achieved at least grade E in one A level, or equivalent, you are exempt from the two year post-GCSE study requirement, but you still have to meet the GCSE requirements.
