About the course

BSc Computer Science (Top-up) is a one year programme designed to provide you with a firm understanding of computer science and enable you to complete your honours degree. The course builds on your existing study and develops your technical fluency through a mix of virtual content, active face to face teaching and project based learning.

Built using standards defined by the British Computer Society, the Engineering Council and the Association of Computer Machinery, the programme incorporates collaboration, community and social ethics. You will engage closely with tutors to enhance your knowledge and apply your skills in practical, industry focused contexts. Roehampton is recognised as a top modern university in London and ranked in the top 15% globally in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2024.

What you’ll study

You’ll build a solid foundation in advanced computer science, while gaining professional skills valued across the software and technology sectors, including software development, data science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, computer systems and cyber security.
