Course summary

Accounting is concerned with the provision of economic information for both internal and external organisational stakeholders. The undergraduate Accounting degrees at Queen's are designed primarily for students who intend to enter the accounting profession and as such contain considerable practical content, as well as essential theory in the various specialisations of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, Taxation and Finance.

UCAS Tariff - Not accepted

A level - AAB

Normally A-level French grade B or AS-level French grade B or GCSE French grade B or evidence of linguistic ability ie GCSE grade B or equivalent in any other language. GCSE Mathematics grade B A-level General Studies and Critical Thinking are normally excluded from offers. However, the grade achieved may be taken into account when results are published in August and may be used in a tie-break situation.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Successful completion of BTEC National Extended Diploma (1080 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) at Level 3) with overall grades D*D*D. Normally A-level French grade B or AS-level French grade B or GCSE French grade B or evidence of linguistic ability ie GCSE grade B or equivalent in any other language. GCSE Mathematics grade B

Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits M: 15 credits

Successful completion of the Access to HE Diploma with a minimum of 60 credits is required, including 45 credits at Level 3 and 15 at Level 2. Normally A-level French grade B or AS-level French grade B or GCSE French grade B or evidence of linguistic ability ie GCSE grade B or equivalent in any other language. GCSE Mathematics grade B

Scottish Higher - AAABB

Separate targets are shown for Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers but offers are normally made on the basis of a combination of the two. Normally Scottish Advanced Higher French grade B or Higher French grade B or National 5 French grade B or evidence of linguistic ability ie National 5 grade B or equivalent in any other language. GCSE Mathematics grade B

Pearson BTEC Extended Diploma (QCF)

Successful completion of BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (180 credits) with overall grades D*D*D. Normally A-level French grade B or AS-level French grade B or GCSE French grade B or evidence of linguistic ability ie GCSE grade B or equivalent in any other language. GCSE Mathematics grade B

Scottish Advanced Higher - AAB

Separate targets are shown for Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers but offers are normally made on the basis of a combination of the two. Normally Scottish Advanced Higher French grade B or Higher French grade B or National 5 French grade B or evidence of linguistic ability ie National 5 grade B or equivalent in any other language.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 34 points

Successful completion of IB with a total of 34 points including 6, 6, 5 (French) in Higher Level subjects.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H2, H3, H3, H3, H3, H3

Higher level French grade H3 or Ordinary level grade 03. If Mathematics is not taken at the Higher Level - Ordinary Level grade 03 is required.

GCSE Mathematics grade B or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University.
