The MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) offers rigorous, evidence-based training in the theory and clinical practice of CBT.
The programme has been developed to align with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Level 2 Minimum Training Standards, ensuring that students receive a curriculum consistent with professional accreditation requirements.
The course has been developed in accordance with the BABCP Level 2 Minimum Training Standards, with the University preparing to seek formal accreditation.
On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a MSc Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

All applicants must hold a 2:2 degree (or where relevant have worked at degree level and provide a post qualification portfolio) and have relevant clinical experience in the health and social care field of at least two years. For example, students with a core profession in Health or Social Care field.
Applicants are expected to have achieved an appropriate introductory course in counselling
Applicants will either have to evidence that they have previously completed a core profession training in a field relevant to mental health or will need to complete a KSA portfolio. The course team can provide further information

Entry is by interview and appropriate references.
Students will be 21 or over at the start of the course, although in exceptional circumstances applicants will be accepted below this age if they can demonstrate an appropriate level of maturity
Students will require a placement in a counselling setting that enables them to complete 100 hours of clinical practice which will commence from the second semester of year one.
