Course summary

‌This degree gives you the opportunity to study two modern foreign languages whilst also specialising in translation and interpreting. You will spend a year abroad, developing near-native fluency and experiencing life in another culture.

UCAS Tariff - Not accepted

A level - ABB

Including French, German or Spanish.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Applicants will be considered on an individual basis, however evidence of study in the relevant languages at A Level or equivalent is also required.

Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits M: 15 credits

A minimum of 30 level 3 credits at Distinction and 15 level 3 credits at Merit is required. Evidence of study in the relevant languages to the required level is also required.

Scottish Higher - AABBB

Including French, German or Spanish. Combination of Highers and Advanced Highers accepted. Scottish qualifications can be taken in more than one sitting.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 32 points

With Higher Level French or German or Spanish at grade 6 or above.

Extended Project

If you offer a Level 3 Extended Project Qualification, we will vary our offer to recognise this. The EPQ can be in any topic.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H1, H2, H2, H3, H3

Including French, German or Spanish at H2.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal - D3, M2, M2

Including French, German or Spanish.
