This extra year of study can improve your academic skills, expand your subject knowledge, give you a better understanding of higher education and, perhaps most importantly of all, build your confidence. On the Keele Foundation Year, you'll study on campus, joining our undergraduate community from the outset, with access to all the facilities and support that you'd get as an undergraduate student at Keele.

Computer Science with Software Engineering
Our BSc in Computer Science with Software Engineering builds essential academic and professional skills, from coding in modern languages such as Python to developing the problem-solving abilities needed to test systems. You’ll gain a solid foundation in modern software engineering practices such as Agile development and Scrum, alongside hands-on experience with key DevOps tools, from version control to continuous integration and build automation. You’ll also explore core principles of system security while developing a strong understanding of legal and ethical challenges and the wider impact of software on society.

Computer Science with Software Engineering at Keele is designed to equip you with the technical expertise to manage the tools, techniques, and processes needed to meet the demands of clients and users. You will learn how to design and build software systems that are easy to maintain, adaptable to change, and responsive to evolving technologies. Additionally, the programme develops a strong human-centred approach to software development, linked closely to the research expertise within the school.
Throughout the programme there’s a variety of teaching and learning activities informed by and involving our partners from industry. This includes a series of guest lectures from organisations such as Microsoft, the BBC, and CapGemini, as well as grouped and individual projects potentially involving real-world data from industry.

555 in three Higher Levels or 30 points

554 including 5 in Maths (any) or Computer Science or 29 points including 5 in Higher Level Maths (any) or Computer Science
