What will I study?
Our programme is designed to stay ahead of industry trends, offering specialised modules in areas such as Sustainable Hospitality Management, Innovation and Technology in Hospitality and Global Entrepreneurship in Hospitality equipping students with cutting-edge skills.
You’ll gain the right balance of transferable skills, specialist knowledge and work-based experience, so upon graduation you’ll be prepared for your future career and will be able to match employer’s needs.
Through dedicated modules you’ll develop your knowledge and skills in technical, supervisory and managerial abilities, preparing you for a global industry. We will help you develop solid business principles, alongside gaining contemporary sector knowledge and plenty of hands-on experience working in areas related to your field of study.
You’ll also have opportunities to explore the multicultural aspects of the world of hospitality, allowing you to gain first-hand experience in different hospitality markets and enhance your global competencies.
You’ll learn about, and reflect on, the impacts of the hospitality industry on the environmental, economic, social, and cultural fabric of society. You’ll also be able to recognise and consider the management disciplines which underpin the management of the hospitality industry and their individual operations. You’ll also gain a strong understanding of the markets, customers’ needs and behaviour, and other drivers of change that affect the development of the hospitality industry and their products from an entrepreneurial point of view. This will enable you to develop effective management strategies for hospitality organisations and enterprises.

On our BA (Hons) in International Hospitality Management, you will be able to study at both our High Wycombe Campus and Missenden Abbey, where you’ll be able to explore the world of hospitality management.
You’ll learn from a dedicated team with extensive industry experience and academic backgrounds, ensuring students receive mentorship and insights from professionals who understand the challenges and opportunities within the hospitality industry. We place a strong emphasis on developing leadership and managerial skills, preparing students to take on significant roles within the hospitality industry through workshops, team projects, and leadership training.
You’ll benefit from our strong employer, industry and trade association links as well as case studies, debates, competitions, masterclasses and placement opportunities with our industry partners.
We also invite guest speakers to deliver sessions, so you can learn from their experiences, expertise and insights. During the programme you will spend time in the classroom learning the theoretical elements that underpin your knowledge base.
You will also spend time in the working environment of the hotel and conference centre Missenden Abbey, and our industry partners, gaining experience throughout the course in: reception, restaurants, housekeeping and conference and events.
You will be assessed in a variety of ways and these are spread out across the year to help make the workload manageable.
