Course summary

Study Chemical Engineering at Aston University and develop the technical and practical skills needed for careers in process, energy and manufacturing industries. This course combines applied, project-based learning with industry-informed teaching.

  • Strong focus on process design, thermodynamics and reaction engineering

  • Applied learning through labs, simulation and engineering design

  • Optional placement year providing industry experience

  • Development of Aston Power Skills alongside technical expertise

Students have completed placements with organisations including GSK, BMW Group and Cummins, working in process and engineering roles.

Graduates have progressed into roles such as process engineer and quality engineer at organisations including Unilever and Schneider Electric.

Integrated master’s (MEng) option provides additional advanced study, enabling deeper technical specialisation and enhanced preparation for professional engineering roles.
