Course summary

The proposed HND aims to equip you with practical skills and theoretical knowledge for various roles in the community sport sector. The curriculum modules such as a research project, entrepreneurism in sport, sport, health and society, coaching specialist populations, and understanding and evaluating initiatives, advanced nutrition and advanced coaching. The programme ensures you gain advanced knowledge and skills, including research competence, entrepreneurial skills, and specialist coaching techniques. The delivery model features face-to-face sessions over two full days each week.

Strong links with local employers provide valuable volunteer and employment opportunities. Aligned with the UK Quality Code for Higher Education and the QAA Framework for Higher Education Qualifications enduring a high quality provision. Overall, the HND in Community Sport and Physical Activity aims to develop professional competence, promote health and wellbeing, enhance employability, and support community engagement, preparing students for successful careers in the sector.
