Course summary
Our Engineering MEng will prepare you for a career as a professional engineer at the forefront of high-tech industry, in both technical and managerial roles. You will gain extensive practical experience and skills, as well as a thorough theoretical knowledge. You can choose to add a placement year to gain additional, relevant experience.
This course allows you to keep your options open while equipping you with all the analytical, design, programming and computing skills required for an exciting engineering career. Where the first year provides a broad curriculum, thereafter you will focus on areas aligned to the School's research interests. You will gain training in the key disciplines of mechanical engineering and materials science. In linking modules in low carbon energy, computer science and electronic engineering - you will be well placed to design our sustainable digital future. Further, by combining knowledge across all these subject areas, you will be able to create innovative solutions appropriate to a wide range of careers from mechatronics, robotics, data science, low carbon energy, automotive engineering as well as traditional roles in materials science and mechanical engineering.
‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time.
