This new and exciting programme is designed to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for employment or progress to the BSc (Hons) Computing programme.
ALIGNED WITH INDUSTRY
The HTQ HND Digital Technologies provides technical training with the skills, knowledge and behaviours crucial to the digital economy, equipping you with the skills to join the digital workforce.
AI Technology is an integral business process in the digital economy across Greater Manchester and beyond, so there are growing opportunities for qualified professionals.
WORK PLACEMENTS
You will apply your skills and knowledge on a work-related placement to develop the right skills and competencies for the workplace.
INDUSTRY RELEVANT
The programme is delivered by industry experts and education professionals who have extensive computing knowledge, as well as industrial and commercial experience.
INDUSTRY STANDARD FACILITIES
The programme is based in the Centre for Advanced Technical Studies, which opened in September 2021, with new hardware for:
• internet of things
• connected devices
• virtual reality
Classrooms and computing laboratories are equipped with up-to-date software and networking tech. You will have access to a laptop and equipment to develop your own project.
EXPERIENCE OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
You will visit employers and conferences and you will meet visiting guest speakers from local, national and international employers including Microsoft, IBM and Sony, to enhance your skills, knowledge and employment opportunities.

This Higher Technical Qualification is approved against occupational standards decided by employers.

Assessment methods may take the form of assessment of individual performance during practical work, essays, reports, presentations, analytical or design assignments, research assignments, blogs/vlogs and personal development plans. The use of multi-modal assessment allows for the use of a wider range of assessment methods – incorporating the use of screencasts, livestreams and digital portfolios of evidence.
