Why Computer Games Programming?
Our Computer Games Programming degree prepares you to become a multi-skilled games programmer, adding functionality to art and design as you create games for consoles, PC, VR and mobile. With placement opportunities at companies such as Rockstar Games Lincoln, Microsoft and Sumo Digital, our graduates stand out. There’s also the chance to attend international games events such as EGX Rezzed, London Comic Con and Digital Bristol, offering opportunities to network with industry professionals (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details).
You’ll learn from experienced lecturers and guest speakers from companies like Codemasters, Rebellion and Headstrong Games. You’ll showcase your work to industry guests at our COMX exhibition, demonstrating your technical and project management skills. The course benefits from affiliation with Sony PlayStation First and access to industry-standard software including Unity, CRYENGINE, Adobe Creative Suite and Autodesk 3ds Max. In our purpose-built facilities, you’ll use modern computing suites, breakout areas and games consoles. Through Games Jam, you’ll also test your skills by creating a game in 24 hours.
Why a Foundation Year?
An integrated foundation year is an introductory year at the start of your degree, ideal if you don’t meet entry requirements or are returning to education. Alongside an introduction to your subject, you’ll develop study, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills to prepare you for degree-level study.
