What you’ll learn
Develop the skills to design and develop IT systems to solve real-world problems.
Master digital strategy as you grasp how to adopt new technologies, research their impacts, build a business case.
Opt to do a placement year between years 2 and 3 to gain first-hand industry experience. You can choose this option once you've joined us and we'll support you throughout.
Collaborate across teams by working with specialists in a variety of areas.
Analyse the requirements for new or replacement digital systems and gain hands-on experience in designing and implementing them.
Throughout your studies, you’ll develop your understanding of how an organisation, its people, and its technology can improve business sustainability. Through group study and agile style working, you’ll learn how to create IT solutions, solving problems sourced from industry.
This digital transformation course will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a wide range of tech careers, from business analysis and IT consultancy to digital project management and beyond.
Specialist facilities
You'll study in our multimillion-pound Verena Holmes building with direct access to four extensive computing labs equipped with up-to-date technology, virtual reality facilities, and a makerspace where you can collaborate on projects with other students. You’ll gain real-world experience through projects provided by companies across the region. We are one of a few universities that follow the CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) approach to problem solve computing issues. Developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, it enables you to learn in a practical, hands-on way to find creative solutions to challenges faced by industry.
