Embark on an exciting journey with Askham Bryan College’s Outdoor Adventure Sport programme, a 2-year full-time course designed to prepare you for a dynamic career in the adventure sports industry. You'll develop both practical and theoretical expertise across disciplines, earn industry-recognised qualifications, and gain the leadership and management skills needed to thrive in this fast-paced sector.
What you’ll learn:
Take your passion for the outdoors to the next level with our Adventure Sports Foundation degree. Experience the thrill of rock-climbing, white-water kayaking, mountaineering, caving, and canyoneering while developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence to turn your hobby into a career.
Learning is hands-on and takes place through five exciting field trips, giving you the chance to apply theory in real-world settings. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to achieve National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications, enhancing your employability and professional credentials.
Whether you’re aiming to lead expeditions, work in outdoor education, or take on adventurous careers worldwide, our Foundation degree combines practical adventure with academic insight to prepare you for the ultimate outdoor career.
Facilities & Location:
Train in our state-of-the-art gym and climbing wall and take advantage of our prime location in the heart of Yorkshire. With regular trips to the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, North Wales, and the Peak District, you’ll learn and develop your skills in some of the UK’s most iconic outdoor adventure landscapes. These trips offer hands-on experience in real-world environments, giving you the chance to grow both personally and professionally while enjoying some of the best outdoor adventure opportunities the UK has to offer.

The tuition fee for entry onto one of our degree programmes is charged per academic year. Our tuition fees will be subject to an annual inflationary rise, as per government guidance. Any change to currently advertised tuition fees will be communicated prior to enrolment onto a course of study.
