Our BA (Hons) Journalism with Content Creation course goes beyond traditional journalism, embracing contemporary methods of content production.
From multi-platform journalism to digital and social media storytelling, you will explore and master the mediums of today's journalism. The course will teach you the skills you need to succeed within a fast-paced media environment in the digital era.
As well as industry-led learning from our expert staff and developing your skills in our professionally equipped studios, the benefits of this course include:

What you'll study
Through practical experience, guidance from our industry experts, and an innovative curriculum, this journalism with content creation course reflects the shift from traditional journalistic methods to the current practices that capable journalists need today.
Emphasising diversity, equality, and representation, the course is committed to teaching you the importance of these values within the news media landscape, with representation in the media forming a cornerstone of the course ethos.
You are encouraged to critically engage with the practice of journalism and its role in society. The outcome is graduates who are well-rounded journalists who are not only skilled content creators but also thoughtful contributors to the media landscape.
Practical experience on the course includes:
• realistic newsroom simulations, providing hands-on experience in producing news stories in a fast-paced environment
• voice coaching and training to develop broadcast-ready delivery skills and refine techniques essential for various journalistic platforms.
As well as equipping you with the ability to produce written work according to the standards of traditional print journalism, we will also teach you to:
• create compelling digital content, including podcasts and social media
• produce and edit video and audio material
• gain a deeper understanding of journalism’s place within broader cultural, social, and political contexts
• understand legal issues facing journalists.
Throughout your journalistic studies, you will have access to our professionally equipped studios where you can develop your skills in:
• podcasting
• video production
• media presentation
• photo journalism
• radio journalism.
In your final year, you will have the choice to work on an independent journalistic project or media dissertation.

The foundation year course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to continue onto your Honours degree. You will study a range of subjects that will underpin your future study and also gain valuable experience of university life, with full access to campus facilities. Successful completion of the year allows you to progress straight onto Level 4 of this course.
