Forge a career in the exciting and dynamic specialism of biomedical sciences, where research is constantly leading to breakthroughs and medical advances that have an impact on the health and the wellbeing of society. It’s a rewarding and never more important field as it underpins modern medicine in our forever developing and changing world.
On our Biomedical Sciences degree at ARU Peterborough, you’ll learn about the human body at a molecular, organ and systems level. You’ll discover how to investigate and treat disease with our passionate and highly qualified lecturers. who will share the latest findings about conditions such as cancer, diabetes, antibiotic resistance, and haemostasis.
You’ll begin by studying general biology, human anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and cellular and molecular biology. You’ll then turn your attention to modern diagnostic techniques and learn about biomedical disciplines including haematology and transfusion science, clinical biochemistry, cellular pathology, medical genetics, medical microbiology, and clinical immunology.
In your final year, with support from a supervisor, you’ll carry out a research project and explore an area of biomedical sciences that’s of particular interest to you.
You could also choose to study BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science in Cambridge.
