This degree programme is aimed at students who wish to study a physics degree with a significant amount of atmospheric physics. This programme combines the study of physics with an introduction to meteorology.
Alongside a thorough grounding in physics, you will learn about atmospheric processes and the techniques used to study:
atmospheric physics
atmospheric dynamics
the physics of climate
Physics with Meteorology is presented in conjunction with the School of Geosciences.
The key difference with the Physics programme lies in your final year, where you will study specialist meteorology courses along with meteorological projects.
Programme benefits
Successful completion of this degree is recognised by the Royal Meteorological Society as an appropriate and adequate basis for those aspiring to accreditation as Chartered Meteorologists.
