Course summary

About the course

BSc Adult Nursing prepares you to deliver safe, high quality care in hospitals and community settings, supporting adults to maintain health and manage illness across the lifespan. Ranked in the top 10 in the UK for Nursing (Guardian University Guide 2024) and 2nd in the UK for student satisfaction (Complete University Guide 2025), the course combines academic excellence with strong clinical preparation.

On successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Throughout the degree, you will work towards meeting NMC standards of proficiency and develop the values central to the NHS Constitution, including compassion, dignity, respect and professional responsibility.

You will gain a strong understanding of how the body functions, how to promote physical and mental wellbeing, and how to support people with acute and long term conditions. Your professional skillset will include health assessment, person centred care planning, clinical skills, medication management, teamwork, leadership and evidence based practice.

Home students are eligible for a non repayable £5,000 NHS bursary per academic year, with additional support available in certain circumstances.
