What you will learn

This course will equip you with a grounding in:

In your second year you can specialise, either by continuing to study for a BSc, learning more about the social context and policy of the health and social care sectors, or by studying for a BA to discover more about how arts and humanities help us respond to changing needs within health and social care.

You will also be able to undertake a work placement and a work-based digital project, or specialise further in environmental studies.

This means that you can graduate with either a BSc or BA Health and Social Care, or:

• BSc/BA Health and Social Care with Professional Practice

• BSc/BA Health and Social Care with Environmental Studies

• BSc/BA Health and Social Care with Professional Practice and Environmental Studies

How you will learn

Classes take place in the daytime or evening for most compulsory modules on this course. Some option modules may only be offered in the evening. Professional Practice modules may only be offered in the daytime.

The course is mainly taught in small-group workshops, seminars and tutorials, supported by online materials.

Foundation Year
If you opt for the Foundation Year route, this will fully prepare you for undergraduate study. It is ideal if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied the relevant subjects, or if you didn't achieve the grades you need for a place on your chosen undergraduate degree.
