On this BA (Hons) Animation course, you will develop creative techniques through a range of digital mediums including film, television, games, and online platforms. Utilising the skills of storytelling and forming narratives, you will develop your artistic communication skills and a strong rationale for your ideas. Through your studies, you will study key animation fundamental skills, including timing, posing, movement and behaviour through research and reference. Students will be encouraged to experiment and to improvise with their ideas to bring a distinctive touch and to take onus of their work. You will be supported and given insights into the animation industry through guest speakers, set tasks by practitioners and receive feedback directly on your work.

The modules on this course are designed to build a sound understanding of the animation pipeline and workflows and give you the professional knowledge and tools you need to succeed. With collaboration at the heart of what we do, you will work and learn alongside other courses such as Games Design, Illustration, Music and Sound Design to enrich your student experience, bringing your specialist animation skills on joint projects with students across various disciplines. You will also hone your skills independently, advancing yourself, looking at performance through acting workshops, dialogue, and emotions, together with new skills in rigging and preparing for industry.

You will be continually evaluated based on project presentations, written work, essays, experimentation and research evidence, blogs, and reports.
