Course summary

This programme has been developed to help those looking to develop a career in a modern manufacturing environment. As part of the course you will study automation technology, Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing. Based in the state of the art Technology Centre, you have the choice between a full time or part time programme in which you will achieve a HNC qualification in either one or two years respectively. On completion, you will be offered the opportunity to progress to a HND with a third year of study. You should either be employed by or intend to pursue a career in a relevant industry. You will study a number of core modules alongside your specialist modules. Modules will develop your understanding of a wide range of engineering techniques and provide you with the analytical tools and concepts necessary to understand the technical and managerial issues you may face in an engineering career. You will apply theories and techniques to real world examples.

All previous students have either achieved a promotion or progressed their career with increased responsibility, following this programme. You may also wish to continue your studies. You can progress on to an HND programme with Exeter College, but several universities have also accepted HNC graduates onto the second year of their degree programmes.
