The MA Children’s Literature and Literacies at Lincoln Bishop University is a dynamic and engaging degree designed for those who wish to advance their expertise in the study of children’s literature and literacy. This course supports both professional development and academic progression, offering you the chance to deepen your subject knowledge and research skills within these interdisciplinary fields.
Drawing on the latest scholarship, research, and professional practice, the programme enables you to explore children’s literature and literacy through a diverse range of specialist modules. You will have the opportunity to develop advanced understanding and critical insight, culminating in an independent research project that reflects your personal interests and ambitions. Throughout your studies, you will engage with conceptual and empirical research, and adopt reflective approaches to research methods and professional contexts.
The MA is committed to fostering a broad, inclusive, and contemporary perspective on literacies. You will examine the wide variety of digital, visual, and interactive texts available to children and young people, and consider how these shape their learning experiences. The course encourages you to pursue your passion for children’s literature through research-led modules that address emerging debates and frameworks in the field. You will also develop a strong foundation in current research methodologies and critical theories, equipping you to sustain and extend your independent research and to pursue your own academic and professional questions with confidence.
Please note: This course is only available to study part time.
