Electrical and electronic engineers are responsible for the design, installation, commissioning and operation of engineering services and therefore have global and local environmental responsibilities.
This qualification opens up career opportunities in consulting, contracting and manufacturing in both the public and private sector.
Students can also progress onto the BEng at University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Year 1 (Level 4):
• mathematics
• electrical and electronic principles
• micros, peripherals and interfaces
• dynamics, control and instrumentation
• design of electrical installations
• engineering applications and study skills
Year 2 (Level 5):
• PLCs and control
• management innovation and sustainability
• electrical power
• group project
• electrical principles theory
• digital signal processing and communications.
Assessment is via assignments and examinations.
The following entry points are available for this course:
Pass
EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma - Pass
GCSE at grade C or above in Mathematics and a Science subject.
Please note, If you do not have a grade C in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent then you can still apply but you may be asked to complete a Maths Assessment.
