Course summary

The University of Liverpool holds a TEF Gold Award for teaching excellence, showcasing our commitment to providing a top-tier learning environment. At our School of Medicine, we prepare the next generation of compassionate, skilled, and confident doctors ready to excel in 21st-century healthcare.
Our MBChB Programme blends cutting-edge science with patient-centred learning, ensuring graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values needed for exceptional patient care. The programme also emphasizes lifelong learning and professional growth, meeting the core requirements set by the General Medical Council (GMC). Whether leading research to shape future clinical care, delivering the very latest in innovative and supportive teaching, or actively engaging with our communities, we aim to make a difference to our students, our profession, and to the health of our city and our region.
Our A101 graduate entry course (GEP) is a 4-year ‘accelerated programme’. The first year will cover what is typically covered in the first two years of the standard 5 -year A100 programme. The first year of the A101 programme will be taught predominantly separately from the A100 (5-year) programme. Some sessions may be combined if appropriate. Students on the GEP join the clinical rotation pattern of the main A100 programme in their second year (year 3 of A100). To accommodate the accelerated nature of the proposed programme, the GEP programme starts in early August and finishes toward the end of July in the following calendar year. All applicants should note that the academic year is longer than standard, and applicants should note this anticipated start time as no deferral of applications will be allowed.
The A101 programme only considers applications from students with home status. No international applicants can apply to the programme. Deferred application to the A101 programme is not considered. Fees and funding

Tuition fees

No fee information has been provided for this course

Tuition fee status depends on a number of criteria and varies according to where in the UK you will study. For further guidance on the criteria for home or overseas tuition fees, please refer to the UKCISA website.

Additional fee information

If this is your first degree and you are a Home student applying for entry in 2026, you do not have to pay your fees upfront. Instead, you can take out a tuition fee loan which is paid straight to the University. This is available to most students, no matter what their household income.

Please note, for Home undergraduate students, 2026/27 fees have yet to be confirmed. Tuition fees are subject to increase each year, subject to the government’s regulated fee limits. For information, for UK students applying for 2025 entry the Tuition Fee was £9,535.

You will find full information about tuition fees in the “Fees and funding” section of all course pages on our website. Or see the “Paying for your studies” section of our website for more information.

Some of our programmes charge less than the full £9,535 fee:

• Psychology BSc (Hons) (2+2 programme with Foundation element), run in collaboration with Wirral Metropolitan College.
• Programmes with a year in industry or a year abroad

Some programmes which include compulsory fieldwork or additional elements such as the Pilots Licence in Aerospace Engineering may incur additional costs. Where this is the case, those costs will be outlined at on-campus events such as the University Open Days or Applicant Discovery Days.
