Our MSc in Social Research Methods provides you with advanced training, in both qualitative and quantitative approaches, that are widely used across the social sciences.
You will be trained together with ESRC/WGSSS doctoral students on a quality research methods enhancement scheme, where you will gain a strong grounding in research ethics and governance, while developing the practical skills to design, conduct and critically evaluate research.
The programme will equip you with the ability to work confidently with a range of tools and techniques, including specialist databases, statistical software and digital research programmes, preparing you to apply these skills across diverse social science contexts.
This MSc is underpinned by a philosophy that combines critical engagement with theory and hands-on practice, enabling you to become a reflective, skilled and independent researcher. As such, it provides an excellent basis to go on and pursue a PhD.
