The tourism, hospitality and events Industry is a vibrant and evolving international sector which offers a multitude of career choices and global opportunities. This course will provide you with a fundamental understanding of tourism, hospitality and events and enable you to specialise in one of the component areas of this dynamic industry. You will be presented with opportunities to acquire and enhance academic and technical skills which will help you to successfully apply for relevant jobs within the tourism, hospitality & events industry.

This course provides students with the opportunity to appreciate the symbiotic relationship that binds tourism, hospitality and events, while simultaneously acquiring a balanced mix of academic and practical skills. The course provides a strong vocational content delivered through tourism, hospitality and events specific modules.

Where will it take me?
Students that successfully complete this Foundation Degree traditionally progress to one of the following areas:
Related degree programmes- Articulation agreements for advanced entry to final year after Summer bridging are currently supported by Ulster University to the: BSc Hons International Hospitality Management (depending on Specialist pathway studied and subject to Ulster University minimum marks entry criteria.)
Standard progression to both BSc Hons International Tourism Management and BSc Hons Event Management is also available with Ulster University.
Employment- Students can progress into employment in a wide variety of organisations at supervisory or duty management level in the:
• Hotel sector
• Travel and Tourism
• Food and beverage sector
• Leisure and entertainment sector
• Events and conference sector
