Course summary

Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries across the world, from healthcare and finance to autonomous systems and data science. This specialist MSci degree combines strong foundations in mathematics, statistics, programming and software engineering with advanced study of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision and natural language processing.

Through practical laboratory work, team projects and industry-focused challenges, you will apply AI techniques to real-world problems from the start of your degree. Teaching is informed by research taking place within the University’s AI community, ensuring you learn the latest methods and approaches.

The course culminates in a substantial individual AI project, allowing you to explore an area of particular interest in depth. An optional placement year also provides the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience and graduate with a strong portfolio of technical and professional skills.
