Course summary

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree provides you with the opportunity to develop the experience, skills and knowledge to design and develop a variety of software and hardware computing solutions for real-world problems. Particular attention is paid to cutting-edge topics, such as artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction, in addition to core computer science disciplines. This aims to ensure that your studies are at the forefront of research in the field.

This degree aims to provide a broad foundation in computer science and provides you with the chance to develop the mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills required to succeed in the challenging and exciting modern computing industry. With digital technologies driving advances in all aspects of the modern world, from business to healthcare to education, those with expertise in computer science are finding employment in a wide range of sectors.

    Hi I’m Ellie and I’m a Second Year Pharmacy student. I will be at Lincoln for 3 more years and plan on becoming a pharmacist when I graduate. I took a gap year before starting university in which I worked and travelled, whilst deciding what I wanted my future to look like! After university, I want to either train to be an accountant, or a teacher, possibly in maths, business or my degree area. I joined the University of Lincoln's Athletics society in September 2024, which has allowed me to make new friends, and take part in many social and competitive events. I ran my first 10k race in April 2025 with fellow society members! I live at home and commuted to campus during my first year. I either walked, drove or got the bus to university.

I love all things theatre, especially musicals and hope to be working on the West-End some day!
