Business Management (Modern Languages) with a Foundation Year

The BSc Business Management with a Foundation Year, is a programme designed for the student who wants to excel and reach the top level of global business management practice but does not yet have the required qualifications.

The largest and most established programme within the School of Management, our BSc Business Management will provide you with a broad range of expertise across the areas of business and management (such as marketing, operations management, accounting, strategy and human resource management) as well as offering a range of cutting-edge specialist optional modules.

The foundation year is taught at The College, on Bay Campus. Located next to the School of Management, The College is the University’s pathway provider and offers a unique learning environment; designed to fully prepare you for the final three years of your degree. Small lecture and seminar classes, state-of-the-art facilities and world-class teaching help you to realise your full academic potential.

In Year 0, you will typically study areas including: Business and Management, Academic Writing, Interactive Learning Skills and Communication, Statistics, Business Economics.

In Year 1, you will typically study areas including: Accounting for Managers, Operations Management, Key Skills for Business, Managing People, Managing in the Digital Age.

In Year 2, you will typically study areas including: Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Economics for Business, Management Science.

In Year 3, you will typically study areas including: Project Management, International Standards, Information Technology Service Management, Lean Operations. You will also undertake a Final Year Project.

We offer a variety of assessment methods within our programmes. In addition to traditional examinations and essays, examples of alternative assessment include:
