Course summary
This Foundation Year will help you to build your confidence and lay the foundations for you to successfully complete a full degree in Psychology.
Build the academic confidence and core skills needed for university-level study, while developing a strong foundation for future study and a career in psychology. The Foundation Year introduces you to psychological ideas and research methods while helping you understand how university learning works. You’ll develop academic and critical thinking skills through active learning, practical activities and regular feedback, preparing you to progress confidently into the psychology degree.

University of South WalesBSc (Hons) Psychology with Criminology and Criminal JusticeMy name is Kirsty, and I'm a 23-year-old third year student pursuing a degree in Psychology with Criminology and Criminal Justice. I've previously worked as a qualified childcare practitioner. My interests lie in understanding human behavior, and in my free time, I enjoy reading, working out, and having fun. I'm currently learning Spanish and Welsh, and I'm also a young carer for my grandmother. If anyone else is in a similar situation, I'd be happy to share my experiences, especially if they're trying to attend university while caring for someone. As a local student, I commute to the University, and I also have dyslexia, which makes it challenging to understand coursework. However, I've developed practical techniques to overcome these hurdles and am willing to share them with anyone who might benefit. Additional fee information
The Tuition Fee for UK students on classroom-based foundation years is £5,760. Fees for subsequent years of the degree course will be charged in line with our standard full-time Home undergraduate fees.

Students have access to a wide range of resources including textbooks, publications, and computers in the University’s library and via online resources. In most cases they are more than sufficient to complete a course of study.
