This course will give you the opportunity to complete the new updated 2024 version HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering for England, this is an updated version of the HNC known as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ).
The course can be studied as a standalone qualification or as part of a Level 4 Apprenticeship.
The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is studied at Level 4 and is suitable for people who want to consolidate or improve their knowledge and who wish to gain a nationally recognised qualification. The Pearson Higher National Certificate (HNC) is suitable for people who are currently working in or hoping to work in a technical and/or managerial role in their chosen field. It is delivered as a part time day release course and takes 2 years to complete.
You will study 8 modules at level 4: Engineering Design, Engineering Maths, Managing a Professional engineering project, Automation, Robotics and PLC, Electrical & Electronic Principles, Electrical Machines, Production engineering for manufacturing and Quality and process improvement.
Assessment will be carried out by a series of assignments, some developed by Pearson and some in house.
You will have appropriate qualifications at level 3 – either a Diploma in Engineering with GCSE Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or Maths/Science at A level, or relevant industrial experience.

This Higher Technical Qualification is approved against occupational standards decided by employers.
