Course summary

The Level 4 HNC lays the foundation of higher learning in electrical engineering. This develops and strengthens core skills while preparing students for specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment and will be competent in a range of subject-specific and general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of engineering.

This HNC is specifically designed for students wishing to progress in electrical engineering. It has a range of units focussed on electrical engineering with an emphasis on Power. It provides a good grounding in Engineering whilst providing a specialism at higher level.

All units are supported by industry experienced staff in purpose built labs extensively equipped for this subject area.

This course is part-time, 1 day a week for 2 years.

BTEC Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma with an overall grade of Merit or above, or

A Levels in maths and Physics achieving grade C or above,
or

Level 3 T Level in Engineering with overall Merit or above,

Entry may also be gained to the course based on suitable industry. experience or alternative qualifications to be determined at interview
