Course summary
This course has been written to prepare students for the world of work as well as gaining an academic qualification. Relevant career options include: probation officer, police officer, prison officer, within the National Offender Management Service the Crown Prosecution Service, Disclosure and Barring Service or other judicial related occupations.
You will be taught by lecturers qualified in the subject along with guest speakers those with experience in the areas of your chosen career path.

• Drugs, Crime and Society
• Dissertation
Assessment method
Assessment will be via a combination of assignments including reports, group work, presentations and exams.

Qualification requirements
Candidates would normally produce evidence of a number of the following:
• Maths GCSE at grade 4 or above
• English GCSE at grade 4 or above
• A minimum of 72 UCAS points
• A pass at FdA Criminology
Applications are welcome from mature students with an appropriate portfolio of work/experience.

Additional entry requirements
- Interview
- Entry onto the Honours Degree in Criminology will be via a successful interview. At the interview learners will be expected to discuss their reasons for studying the course and how they wish to progress in the judicial system.
English language requirements
EU students, for whom English is not the first language, will be required to evidence an IELTS score or 6.0 or equivalent. Equivalences include:
• TOEFL written examination score of 550 plus a test of written English (at 4)
• TOEFL Computer Equivalent score of 230
• Proficiency in English (Cambridge) at Grade C or above
