Course summary

The MSc Civil Engineering with Environmental Management course brings together subjects from the engineering, construction, transportation, logistics, computing, and business subject areas. It provides advanced training for engineers and professionals involved in sustainable civil engineering – that is, building future cities and settlements that are safe, sustainable, resilient, and adaptable systems.

The course is multidisciplinary, and you’ll work on designing systems that are resilient to extreme climates and emerging hazards. In other words, you’ll learn to create systems that have better symbiosis with the natural environment.

Assessment method

Assessment tasks are mainly spread across the year to make the workload manageable. Assessment methods include group work, exams and individual work including essays, presentations, case studies, professional development and practical activities depending on the nature of the course.

Accepted Qualifications

Bachelor's degree BEng with minimum Second Class (2:2) or BSc with minimum Upper Second Class (2:1) in Civil Engineering or a related subject.
