Explore the physical processes that govern the natural environment at a university that’s internationally recognised for our expertise in global warming.

Climate change, sustainability and geohazards – they’re some of the biggest challenges of our time and you’ll work with our expert team of academics and researchers to learn about the complex natural and human processes affecting the planet.

You’ll study a mix of physical and human geography on this Royal Geographical Society-accredited degree – with the option to specialise as you progress – and put theory into practice far beyond the classroom on field work and residential trips to locations like Almeria, Tenerife and Iceland.

The Foundation Year is an extra year of study at the start of your degree. It’s designed to boost your academic skills and knowledge of your specialist
area. When you successfully complete it, you can transfer seamlessly into the full degree programme.

With a geography degree, you’ll be highly employable. Your skills and knowledge in areas like climate change and GIS, and transferable skills like teamwork and data analysis are sought after by environment sector employers, and in the wider employment market.

As well as an environmental consultant, conservation officer, hydrographer, flood risk modeler, you could be a town planner, teacher, marketer, banker or account. Previous students have found work with organisations like Burberry, Lincolnshire County Council, the Met Office, American Express, the British Army, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and KPMG.
