Birmingham Newman University offers an innovative foundation year to complement our undergraduate degrees. Our Foundation Year is the first year of a four-year degree. Successful completion of the Foundation Year leads into the first year of the 3 year degree in Professional Policing.
The foundation year provides an alternative route to an undergraduate degrees for those unable to meet the traditional entry requirements for a three-year degree and for those looking to build their confidence and academic skills.
BA (Hons) Professional Policing
The BA Professional Policing degree, structured in a modular format, is a full-time program studied over a three-year period. This undergraduate degree provides a stimulating and challenging learning experience, aiming to develop a practical and informed understanding of professional policing. The course offers a blend of theory and practice, firmly rooted in the core principles and requirements of policing. It fosters a learning environment that supports independent study and the exploration of ideas, enabling you to draw upon your own experiences as a learner.
As potential police officers or individuals considering other roles not strictly limited to policing, this course will help cultivate your passion for policing.
