Careers
This is the course for you if you want to be a primary school teacher.
Once you graduate you’ll be awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and will be eligible to begin your Early Career Teacher journey.
While studying, you'll complete three placements that fully prepare you to take on your own class.
If you prefer to work outside of the classroom, you’ll be ready to take on various roles in education and training.
With your undergraduate degree and QTS in one, this course has been designed for the next generation of primary school teachers.
Our degree is aligned with the Department for Education’s Teachers’ Standards and related Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Content Framework, so you’ll be fully prepared for all the requirements to be qualified to teach the 5-11 age range.
Graduation doesn't need to be the end of your time with us. If you’d like to continue your studies, we offer a range of postgraduate degrees in education. Take advantage of our Alumni Scholarship and get 20% off your fees.
Teaching
Develop a deep understanding of core and foundation curriculum subjects, how children learn, classroom management, and key issues such as inclusion and safeguarding.
You’ll continually critically reflect upon your learning and placement experiences, in order to improve your teaching practice. In Year 3, you’ll produce a detailed report on a professional issue that interests you, further demonstrating what you’ve learned.
Placements are integral to each year of your course. Each placement advances your role in the school setting, building up to 80% responsibility in the classroom in Year 3.
