Our BA Religion and Theology with Study Abroad degree lets you explore how cultures and individuals deal with life-shaping questions. We look at how changes and conflicts occur in religious cultures, both past and present.

The skills you'll develop will form a solid basis for pursuing a range of careers, including journalism, law, politics, publishing, teaching, communication and more.

Bristol is a culturally diverse and vibrant city. We organise excursions to local churches, mosques, synagogues, Hindu and Sikh temples, and Buddhist centres. As part of your degree, you'll have the exciting opportunity to conduct fieldwork. This will enable you to build community connections and discuss some of the big global questions with people of diverse faiths and cultures.

In your third year, you will take your learning abroad. Bristol students have studied in places including Sydney, Tokyo, California, North Carolina, Boston and Montreal, as well as closer to home in Belgium and the Netherlands. You'll join a welcoming community that enables you to interact closely with lecturers. Tutors employ a variety of teaching styles, ranging from small-group sessions to larger lecture units.
