Prepare to tackle the world's energy challenges with MEng Energy Engineering with Industrial Year. You'll study the fundamental science of energy and develop expertise and practical skills during your energy sector placement.

From thermodynamics and fluid mechanics to system design and life cycle analysis, you'll explore the science and technologies required to respond to global energy challenges. With a specialist understanding of energy production, conversion and storage, you'll be prepared to start your career as an engineer in the energy sector.

Develop the knowledge, skills and judgment to begin a professional career in the energy sector with MEng Energy Engineering with Industrial Year. Explore the fundamental science of energy engineering through energy use, transportation, generation and storage. You'll examine and optimise whole energy system approaches while considering how ethical and sustainable development can enhance our efforts to transition to a net zero energy economy.

Your year working in industry will give you a step up into a graduate role, helping to build your confidence and professional experience. Industry experts deliver guest lectures and you’ll take part in industry related projects, building teamworking experience. Your studies will be closely aligned to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals so you’re ready for roles with global importance.

7,6,6 at Higher Level including Mathematics and either Chemistry or Physics at Higher Level grade 6, with a minimum of 32 points overall. We will consider Standard Level Mathematics grade 7.

Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024)

Accepted in place of a non-required A level with the equivalent grade.
