About the course
Computing International Foundation Pathway: Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) prepares you for success in your chosen undergraduate computing degree while strengthening your English language and academic skills.
You will develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills alongside building core knowledge in computing and digital literacy. The course is designed to give you the academic foundation, subject understanding and confidence needed to progress onto a Roehampton computing degree.
What you’ll study
You will build knowledge in computer science, data analysis and computational thinking, while improving your academic English and study skills.
Modules may include:
• English: London as Global City
• Data Analysis and Research Skills
• Foundations of Computer Science
• Problem Solving with Computing Thinking
Modules are subject to change.
How you’ll learn
Teaching takes place through lectures, seminars and workshops delivered by experienced academic staff.
You will have regular contact with an academic guidance tutor, alongside face-to-face and online careers and study support.
With teaching delivered over no more than three days per week, you will have flexibility to undertake part-time work, placements or internships while studying.
How you’ll be assessed
Assessment methods include online tests, presentations and essays designed to enhance understanding, develop analytical thinking and reflect real-world computing practice.
You will receive ongoing support from academic tutors throughout your studies.

On successful completion of the International Foundation Pathway, you can apply to undergraduate degrees at Roehampton, including:
• Computer Science
• Computing and Digital Technologies
• Cyber Security
• Web Design and Development
You will also benefit from careers support from the start of your studies, helping you build your CV, prepare for interviews and connect with employers and graduates.
