Course summary
Staff in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences conduct cutting-edge research in fundamental and applied mathematics and physics, ranging from pure mathematics to applied nano-science at the interface between biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. The School collaborates with top research institutions in Germany, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, and the USA.
Our astrophysics research deals with some of the most complex structures in our Solar system, such as planetary rings around Saturn. An emerging direction is also an investigation of disks around exoplanets and potential moon formations which could support life.
Students are supported and encouraged to submit papers to international scientific journals, present findings at conferences, and share knowledge with colleagues across the University.

University of LincolnAccountancy and Finance - BA (Hons)I have just completed my first year as an Accountancy and Finance student at the University of Lincoln. I took a gap year before starting university in which I worked and travelled, whilst deciding what I wanted my future to look like! After university, I want to either train to be an accountant, or a teacher, possibly in maths, business or my degree area. I joined the University of Lincoln's Athletics society in September 2024, which has allowed me to make new friends, and take part in many social and competitive events. I ran my first 10k race in April 2025 with fellow society members! I live at home and commuted to campus during my first year. I either walked, drove or got the bus to university. Daisy

University has helped me discover sports psychology and performance analysis which is something I would like to look into for the future. University of LincolnPharmacy - MPharmHi I’m Ellie and I’m a Second Year Pharmacy student. I will be at Lincoln for 3 more years and plan on becoming a pharmacist when I graduate. I did A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and EPQ and I am very familiar with the clearing process due to my A levels not going as expected so feel free to ask questions around this subject too! Clearing felt very daunting at first when things didn’t go as planned on results day, but the process was actually really easy and ended up finding the university that’s best for me. I am currently in the arts and crafts society, 20 minute society, Biochemistry society, video game society, tabletop society and musical society at Lincoln.
