This Foundation Degree is designed for those working or planning to work in a supervisory position within the Early Years sector. Students will need a ‘Critical Friend’ within the workplace. Assessment is built around reflection and reflective practices. This involves the development of observational skills that enable the Early Years Practitioner to adapt current theory and thinking to meet the needs of the child. Course work is continuously assessed through assignments, essays, presentations, reflective practice journals, portfolios and a work based project.
Level Four Modules:
Play Based Learning (20 credits)
Professional Practice: Academic Skills (20 credits)
Child Development (20 credits)
Collaborative Practice (20 credits)
Observation and Physical Well-being in the Early Years (20 credits)
Supporting Children with Special Needs (20 credits)
