Course summary

Take the next step in your construction career with our Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Construction Management (Site Supervisor) - a nationally recognised Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) designed to help you develop the specialist skills and knowledge needed to manage people, processes and projects on site.

This course provides a strong balance of theoretical understanding and hands on experience, giving you the confidence to plan, monitor and deliver construction work safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll explore key areas such as health, safety and welfare on construction sites, construction technology, surveying, measuring and setting out and finance management, all essential to the effective supervision of modern construction projects.

Taught by industry-experienced tutors, you’ll gain valuable insight into the latest methods and standards shaping today’s construction industry.

Whether you’re already working in the sector or looking to progress into management, the HNC provides a solid foundation for roles such as Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager, and can also lead to further study at HND or degree level.

Why study?
Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ)
This course is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, meaning it meets current employer and industry standards.

A Recognised Qualification

Progression Opportunities
An HNC offers flexible next steps. Progress to a Higher National Diploma (HND), a Bachelor’s degree (BSc Hons), or move straight into entry-level Construction roles.

Designed with Employers in Mind
Developed with employers, industry experts, and universities, Higher National qualifications focus on the skills businesses need blending technical, business and employability knowledge.

Smaller Class Sizes
With classes of around 15 students, you’ll enjoy personalised teaching, individual support and plenty of opportunities to engage with your tutors and peers.
