BA (Hons) History gives you the chance to explore humanity’s biggest triumphs, challenges and turning points, from ancient civilisations and medieval worlds to global conflict, revolution and modern change.
With us, you won’t just learn what happened in the past; you’ll investigate why it happened and how it impacted the world you live in today. Taught by expert historians and active researchers, you’ll examine political, social and cultural history across different times and places, building the skills to think critically, analyse evidence and communicate your ideas with confidence.
From day one, you’ll be encouraged to follow your interests and uncover everything from ancient empires to modern Asia, exploring themes like war, society, identity and global change. This is a flexible course designed to develop your own specialisms as a historian: as you progress, you can tailor your degree through option modules to suit your interests.
Whether you see yourself working in education, media, law, public service, heritage, or business, this course equips you with the curiosity, independence and an analytical mindset that employers value. History isn’t just about the past, it’s a way to understand the current world and help to shape the future.
This course has a foundation year available.
