BA (Hons) Interior Design with Professional Practice Year is a four-year degree programme, in year three you undertake a placement within the creative industries to further develop your skills and CV.

Interior Design is as much about people as it is about place. You need to know design principles and understand architecture, but you also need to understand human psychology: how we move through spaces and what we need from our environment. On this course, we’ll train you to combine technical skills and creative thinking – through real projects at real scale.
You'll have your own dedicated studio for all three years – readily accessible and large enough to work at the scale that interior projects demand. You’ll build site models that stay up for months, test full-scale prototypes, and develop ideas the way professional designers actually do – over time.
With London’s ultra-modern skyline and Kent’s heritage coast both nearby, you’ll get exposure to everything from commercial retail and hospitality projects to civic spaces and ancient buildings. By the time you graduate, you'll have a jam-packed portfolio, a diverse range of experience, and a clear sense of the direction you want to take your career.

Fees stated are based on 25/26 academic intake and should be used as guidance. Confirmed fees for 26/27 will be published shortly.
NOTE: Fees for the Professional Practice Year (which is taken between the second and third year of the course) are set at no more than 20% of standard course fees. As a guide, for the 2026/27 academic year, Professional Practice Year fees will be £1,900.
If you are classified as a Home student and qualify for the government-regulated undergraduate tuition fee, you will be charged a single tuition fee for each academic year. Our policy is to charge the maximum regulated fee. To reflect increased costs of delivery and maintain a high-quality student experience, we will therefore increase fees in line with any uplift determined by the UK Government by law or government policy in the second and subsequent years of your course. Such increases are usually linked to inflation and determined using RPIX (the Retail Price Index excluding mortgage interest payments).
For all other students, your tuition fees may increase in the second and subsequent years of your course. Any increase in fees will be in line with inflation as measured by the RPIX but in any event by not more than 5%.
We will notify you of any fee increase by no later than July before the start of the next academic year.
