Do you have a passion for stars and galaxies? Want to gain an understanding of the fundamentals of all matter? Combine a focus on Astrophysics with the wider perspective of Physics with our Physics with Astrophysics degree.

You’ll learn at one of the UK’s best-equipped teaching observatories, with 6 modern robotic telescopes, including two of the most powerful telescopes in the UK.
This course is shaped by world-leading work in astrophysics and physics, with pioneering research in nanoscience, computational and experimental physics.
What you'll do
This course has the same introductory modules as our physics and astrophysics courses. Meaning, you could opt to make a change at the end of your first year.
If you’re doing well and you’d like to focus on research, you’ll have the opportunity to progress on the MSc by research which we offer.
You can choose to take a sandwich year between your second and third year, whether studying abroad or gaining valuable skills and experience on a work placement.

120 points at A2 including BB in Physics and Maths. Use of Maths and General Studies not accepted.

120 points with 15 level 3 credits at D in Maths and 15 level 3 credits at D in Physics.
120 UCAS Points including Physics and Maths at grade BB.
Pass IB Diploma including 120 points from Higher Level subjects including Higher Level 5 Maths and Physics
120 UCAS Points including Physics and Maths at H1
5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including Maths and English or equivalent. Equivalent qualifications are Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Level 3 Key Skills in Maths and Communication.

Please note the fee for Year 1 is £9,790. The fee for Year 2 is £10,050. Fees for Year 3 will be £10,050 plus inflation linked increases, in line with the government fee cap.
