The BA (Hons) International Fashion Design (Top-Up) is a one-year course for those who’ve completed a relevant HND or two years of undergraduate study and want to progress to a full degree. You’ll build on your existing skills with a focus on employability, sustainability, and global fashion practices. Through live briefs, industry collaborations, and hands-on projects, you’ll gain experience in designing innovative fashion products using both traditional craftsmanship and digital technologies.
You’ll study alongside students from across our fashion design courses, working in a collaborative, international environment that reflects the industry. This approach supports creative development while expanding your understanding of global markets and cultural contexts.
Throughout the course, you’ll refine your design identity and build a portfolio that showcases your creativity, technical skill, and professional awareness. Whether you’re aiming to start your own label or join an established brand, you’ll graduate ready to make a positive impact in the global fashion industry.

The following entry points are available for this course:
To be considered for entry to this Top Up course, we require 240 CATS credits earned through recent (up to 2 years) completion of a relevant Foundation Degree, Advanced Diploma, HND (merit or above), the first two years of a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent.
In cases where applicants are returning from industry and do not meet the standard admissions criteria, a case-by-case assessment of recent relevant professional experience will be made to establish suitability for entry to the course.
Eligible applicants will be asked to submit a portfolio of work as part of the application process.
International students will also be required to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 with no component less than 5.5, or an equivalent accepted English language qualification.
